About Kjirsten
Kjirsten is a certified K–12 Music Educator licensed in Band, Orchestra, and Choir, and holds a Master’s degree in K–8 General Education. She has over 10 years of experience working with students of all ages and genuinely enjoys helping them grow in both confidence and ability.
Her approach to teaching is grounded in the idea that students learn best when they’re actively involved. Rather than relying on repetition alone, she focuses on making lessons engaging, interactive, and meaningful so concepts actually stick.
Whether it’s music or math, she aims to help students understand the “why,” not just the “how.”
Kjirsten’s background in physics engineering led to a strong interest in math and problem-solving, and she enjoys helping students make sense of concepts that might otherwise feel overwhelming. She works with both elementary and secondary students, meeting them where they are and helping them move forward with confidence.
At the core of her teaching is a simple goal: to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, building real skills, and realizing they’re capable of more than they think.
Focused on building strong fundamentals while helping students feel capable, supported, and engaged in the learning process
Students are encouraged to bring their own work, homework, or song choices
Helping students understand why things work, not just how to complete the task
